What is the definition of Marketing?
It sounds like a very basic question but there are so many views and opinions out there and a lot of them are only defined in the narrow context of advertising or selling. This is just a small part of the story when it comes to what marketing is all about.

Marketing is the management practice of interpreting customer needs and wants, and then to match or exceed them by how you deliver the product or service. Marketing is about getting the right product or service to the client at the right price, at the right time and in the right place. Everything we consume, every store we visit, every media message we read, listen to or watch, every choice we make has been shaped by marketing in some way.
In today’s markets, as the pressure from competition increases across the board, marketing skills have never been more valued. Marketing has played a direct role in many of the recent success stories across many different markets in both business to consumer (B2C) and Business to Business (B2B).
